Director Lee Joon-ik appears in person to host the Canadian premiere of his historical buy levitra online us epic comedy Battlefield Heroes, tonight at 6:15pm in the Hall Theatre. The talent behind Fantasia hits The King and the Clown and Blades of Blood, Lee’s latest South Korean battle clash is a sequel to his 2003 film Once Upon a Time in a Battlefield, and stands alone as a cutting subversion of wartime wreckage.
When the 7th century Korean kingdom of Silla (headed up by Hwang Jeong-min of The Unjust) joins forces with the Chinese Tang Dynasty in the hopes of dominating the peninsula, officers, generals, soldiers and peasants on all sides come out en masse in a blood frenzy of battlefield chaos. The ground-level, invisible facilitators of the nobles’ lofty visions of grandeur, the peasants – including the charismatic Lee Mun-shik (A Bloody Aria) – are a fighting force who know how to scheme with the best of ‘em.
