Based on a popular television series of the same name also directed by Hideo Gosha (Sword of the Beast, Goyokin), Three Outlaw Samurai is Gosha’s feature film debut, and he definitely delivers with this rousing mix of Yojimbo and Seven Samurai served with a fresh dash of attitude and style, and enough hack-and-slash best online generic levitra action and tragic fatalism to satisfy genre devotees. The titular protagonists http://www.fingermedia.tw/?p=1322771 are Tetsuro Tamba (Tiger Tanaka in You Only Live Twice), the square-jawed gunslinger; Mikijiro Hira, chewing the scenery as the hedonistic Kikyo; and Sakura (Isamu Nagato), the slovenly Oscar Madison samurai. This group of misfits find themselves entangled in a conflict between peasants and a corrupt magistrate, leading to an epic showdown that does not disappoint! More fun and lightweight than the dark meditations Gosha later became known for, Three Outlaw Samurai still contains plenty of worldly cynicism, as well as early examples of Gosha’s stylistic hallmarks, including his incisive editing, his lateral pans, and his skilled use of overhead and high-angle shots.
“The result is cinematic magic, the perfect blend of blood and tears, a film worth watching over and over again.”—Mike Street, The Asian Reporter
